Qualifications and their LEVELS  

NCEA is New Zealand's national qualification for secondary school students. NCEA Level 1 is usually studied in the third year of secondary school

To keep a check on the quality of education, training and assessment, there are number of government appointed bodies responsible for approving qualifications in New Zealand. All institutes and schools adhere to the standards set and rigorously monitored by the New Zealand Government.

Scholarships are available for international students however the competition is intense and the majority of international students in New Zealand are full-fee paying students.

Permanent Residency
Education program in New Zealand can certainly lead to migration opportunity.

  • After completing a 3-year duration Diploma, Degree, PG course or course under the skilled shortage list a student can gain Points towards Skilled Migrant category, for Permanent Residency. They can apply for a Job Search Visa of one year for full time work.
  • Once a student gets a job offer they can either apply for 2 years Work Permit or Permanent Residency depending on their eligibility for SMC. For PR requirement of two years work experience is waived off if the student has NZ qualification.
  • Students going for Post graduate courses or for courses listed in immediate or long term skill shortage can bring in their spouse on a work permit.
  • New Zealand Permanent Residency holder enjoys many benefits like subsidized tuition fees for higher education, low interest rates & easy loan facilities.
